Our Mission..,
is to connect people to their network and services in and around Alaska. The inability to connect to resources, family, or social networks is the number one barrier to decreasing homelessness. The Forget-me-not Facebook platform connects 25,500 members to family, networks,
and much-needed resources. We know smartphones and technology are important in mitigating homelessness, connecting to services, and ultimately sharing culture. Our mission includes ensuring access to technology and increasing the Forget-me-not audience.
When someone contacts us:
We offer support and explain the Facebook group's purpose. With this technology, users can reach out to their families and let them know they are okay. Some request traditional
foods, while others may ask for help to return home. Forgetmenot USA makes every effort to assist people so they don't end up sleeping at the entrance of local businesses or on the streets.
Through engagement, we have had a significant impact on reducing the number of people experiencing homelessness in Anchorage and around the State.
Our History
Founder Samuel Johns, also known as Ch'eedaih Zhee Kaii, has been helping Alaskans since 2015 with the Forgetmenot USA mission. Formally incorporated in September 2023, Forgetmenot USA eventually became the vehicle for Samuel’s good works, following years of connecting villagers from all over Alaska with family, friends and resources. His wide network of Alaskans extends from Utqiagvik (Barrow) to Adak. Empowering people and changing lives is the result of the Forgetmenot USA Mission: Connecting community, culture and families. Forgetmenot USA is a 501c3 our EIN number is: 99-0727316, incorporated in September of 2023
